Canada Anemone

Anemone canadensis

This beautiful plant can form large colonies, with the simple white blooms raised on stems above the attractive, lush foliage. Somewhat similar to the Thimbleweeds (q.v.), which are higher and appear later.

1-2 feet, sun/partial shade.

Spring (May-June).

Near the end of their blooming period, showing the seed heads forming.  Note also the characteristic shape of the leaves.
