False Aster
Boltonia asteroides
Never classified among the Asters, the second part of this plant's scientific name means "Aster-like." False Aster is densely covered with small (1/2"-3/4") flowers, usually white but sometimes tinged pink or lavendar, and has narrow, small leaves (up to 4" long, about 1/4" wide). It prefers damp situations.
