Heart-leaved Aster

Symphyotrichum cordifolium (formerly Aster cordifolius)

Flowers small (to 5/8" across), pale lavendar to white; centers yellow, turning quickly to red. Lower leaves up to 4", somewhat broad, toothed, with marked indentation at stem (cordate).

1-4 feet, partial shade.

Late Summer-Early Autumn (August-October).

Lower leaves, toothed and with noticeable notch where stem joins leaf.
