Bugle
Ajuga reptans
This low plant, common in lawns, spreads by runners and forms colonies. Flowers in heads have violet-blue hoods with whiter lower lip. Leaves ovate, 2" long, with indented veins; leaves and stems are hairless.
4-8 inches, partial sun.
Spring (May-June).
