Slender Gerardia

Gerardia tenuifolia

Numerous small pink bells, about 5/8 inch long, on individual stems from central stalk. Leaves are small, no longer than 2 inches, and very narrow.  Some gerardias have flaring bells, but this species has bells the edges of which remain directed forward.

1-2 feet, partial shade.

Summer-Autumn (August-October).

Note the long flower stalks, bells with compact edges, not flaring outward, and thin needle-like leaves.
