Yellow Goat's-Beard
Tragopogon pratensis
The large (2 inch diameter) yellow flowers appear singly atop long stems rising above a rosette of grass-like leaves. The outer petals end squarely and have tiny notches. Blossoms wither by afternoon. Very similar to Oyster-plant (T. porrifolius), with which it sometimes hybridizes.
1-3 feet, sun.
