Swamp Rose-Mallow

Hibiscus moscuetos

The showy pink flowers (which may have a dark red throat, or may lack it) are large, about 5 inches across, with six wide, striaited petals. Leaves on long petioles are large (often 6 inches or more in length) and broad, either ovate or with a long pointed central lobe and two shallow, broad side lobes.


5-7 feet, sun - partial sun. In or beside water.


Summer (July-September).

  The broad leaves are unlobed or have shallow lobes.
