Cylindric Blazing-Star

Liatris cylindracea

This Blazing-Star has relatively few flowering heads, each on a stalk from the stem and with a cylinder-shaped involucre behind the several dozen florets.

1-2 feet, sun or light shade.

Summer (July-September).

The cylindrical involucre with tight, pointed, flat bracts, each head on a short stalk.
