Royal Catchfly

Silene regia

The blazing red flowers of five petals appear in clusters atop smooth stems with pairs of smooth, ovate, untoothed, stalkless leaves.  The elongated, reddish calyx is corrugated and sticky.

2-5 feet, sun or light shade.

Summer (June-September).

Petals have no notch at the tip or only a slight indentation.
