Dutchman's Breeches

Dicentra cucullaria

Low spring plant with arching stems from which hang small white flowers (less than 1 inch) having two vertical spurs. Leaves are gray-green, compound, with each leaflet finely subdivided, giving a fern-like look.

Under 1 foot, shade-partial shade.

Spring (April-May).
