Lance-leaved Goldenrod

                                                  (Grass-leaved Goldenrod)

Euthamia graminifolia

This common species has flat-topped floral heads with many small florets (up to 2 dozen rays each). These bloom sequentially, so the heads are not so showy and have a rather faded or worn-out appearance (see photo below). Distinctive are the narrow, untoothed leaves (about 3/8 inch wide), rough to the touch, which are parallel-veined.

1-4 feet, sun or partial sun; prefers moist habitats.

Summer-Autumn (July-October).
