Smooth Ground-Cherry

Physalis subglabrata

Yellow bell-shaped flowers with a purple-brown throat hang in a row along smooth, ridged or anglar stems. The plant branches frequently to form a vegatative mass, within which the flowers are often hidden. Leaves are ovate and pointed, somewhat irreguar in shape, often wavy-edged but not toothed. After blooming seeds form in green 'lanterns' that hang from the stems.

1-3 feet (sometimes taller), sun or partial sun.
