Spotted Jo-Pye Weed
Eupatorium maculatum
The flowers, pink-purple, are small, in dense clusters forming panicles atop this tall plant. Stems are purple or purple-green. Most distinctive are the leaves: large, pointed, toothed on the edges, with a bumpy surface, and occurring in whorls of 5 (sometimes 4) around the stem .
2-7 feet, partial shade.
Summer (July-September).
