Virginia Knotweed

Tovara virginiana

The thin, hairy, clambering stems of this plant have relatively large, ovate-pointed leaves with smooth edges.  Joints in the stem are covered by a thin sheath. Long stems produce very small (less than 1/4 inch) white blossoms (see image below).  

1-4 feet, shade - partial shade.

Summer-Autumn (July-September).
