Hairy Wood Mint
Blephilia hirsuta
This mint has heads with intermittent tufts of tiny flowers, and additional clumps in upper leaf axils; the flowers are blue or white, with tiny dark specks. Distinctive is the hairiness of the stems, as well as the relatively long petioles (up to 1-1/2 inch) on the ovate, pointed leaves.
1-3 feet, partial sun - partial shade.
Spring-Summer (May-September).
Fine dark specks are visible in the flowers; note also the hairy stem.
