Wild Carrot   (Queen Anne's Lace)

Daucus carota

A familiar alien of summer fields, Wild Carrot has a taproot that produces a profusion of finely-cut foliage and numerous stems that support flat-topped (or sometimes dome-shaped) panicles of small white florets, often but not always with a purple or black central spot. The panicles may be from an inch to 6 inches across.

The root is white, with a strong carrot flavor but very tough and stringy in comparison with cultivated carrots.

2-3 feet, sun - partial sun.
